Kicking Up a STORM at the Standard Chartered Cup

How STORM Events brought colour, creativity, and precision printing to one of the year’s most exciting corporate football tournaments

When Standard Chartered Bank hosted its annual five-a-side football event at Powerleague Battersea, 28 teams from global banks and companies came together for a day of friendly competition. The Canadian team from Royal Bank of Canada ultimately claimed victory—but behind the scenes, STORM Events played a vital role in making the pitch and grounds look spectacular.

From the moment players and supporters arrived, they were greeted by vibrant signage and banners designed and produced by our in-house printing team. Using one of our favourite pieces of kit—the Mimaki UV industrial flatbed printer—we created durable print-to-board signs for pitch gates and welcoming areas. Our solvent roll media printers helped us produce eye-catching vinyl graphics for floors, walls, and windows, ensuring every detail reflected the energy of the event. To complete the look, we partnered with trusted suppliers for additional pop-up ovals, barrier signage, flags, and banners that framed the goals and added a professional finish.

The numbers tell their own story: if you lined up all the banners we produced, they’d stretch an incredible 117 metres—longer than a Premier League pitch. Every piece of signage helped guide the lively crowd and motivate players, creating an atmosphere worthy of the occasion.
