Overnight, we transitioned nearly £2 million worth of in-person events to virtual platforms, proving that adaptability and innovation are at the heart of what we do. The Covid-19 lockdowns were a defining moment for the events industry. Within two weeks, STORM transformed its renowned in-person customer experience into a five-star online service, setting the standard for hybrid event delivery. Hybrid and virtual events are now commonplace, but back in 2020, they were rare. We built pop-up studios in unconventional spaces, including a gymnasium for Phoenix Group, and introduced NDI PTZ cameras for dynamic, high-quality streaming. In early 2021, Phoenix Group—one of the UK’s largest pension providers—trusted STORM to deliver their annual results in a fully hybrid format. We converted a recreational space at their Birmingham HQ into a state-of-the-art broadcast studio, complete with branded LED walls, integrated remote speakers, and animated content. Powered by networked NDI-controlled cameras, this project marked a turning point in hybrid event production, redefining what’s possible in live-virtual integration.

One of our standout projects was NatWest’s 10th anniversary celebration of the Rainbow Network, complete with a live performance by their employee-formed band, The Fine Ants. STORM provided a professional stage setup, PA system, and digital radio mics to ensure the event hit all the right notes.
