Five Years of Hybrid Innovation: How STORM Events Redefined Live and Virtual Experiences

Blending historic elegance with cutting-edge event production inside London’s iconic Egyptian Hall

Last year’s City AM Dragon Awards were hosted in the breathtaking Egyptian Hall at Mansion House, a venue steeped in history and architectural grandeur. With its Grade I listed design inspired by Roman interpretations of Egyptian style, the hall provided a dramatic backdrop for STORM Events to showcase how modern event mastery can complement tradition.

Our production team embraced the challenge of enhancing this historic space with technical precision and creative flair. The goal was clear: deliver an experience that felt as powerful as the venue itself.

Lighting played a starring role. Using custom gobos designed and produced in-house, we projected intricate textures and branding onto the towering columns, creating a sense of depth and elegance. Dynamic colour washes and tight beam effects transformed the atmosphere, guiding audience focus during speeches and award presentations.

Sara Burns, Lead Lighting Designer for the event, explained:
“This wasn’t about just making the room look pretty; it was about using light to command attention, guide the audience’s focus, and give every moment the impact it deserved. The Egyptian Hall is a powerful space, and our job was to match that energy with bold, intentional design.”

From concept to execution, STORM delivered a seamless blend of heritage and innovation—proving once again that technical excellence and creative vision can elevate any event.
